There is a thrill of roaming the streets of an unfamiliar city by yourself. It’s not just about moving at your own pace, there are encounters and conversations you get by sitting alone that might have never happened otherwise.
One of these days, take yourself out on a solo date. Have dinner. You don’t have to impress anyone right now; if you want to, by all means eat with your hand and lick your fingers when you are done. Then, watch a movie by yourself. Laugh or cry your eyes out, don’t worry about what others might think – it’s dark anyway, no one can really get a good look at you.
Being alone is not a sad story or a bad situation to get yourself into. For many, it can be a liberating experience.
For me, it’s just life. Life as I know it.
